The Functional Technical Analyst specialized in data, process automation with Power Apps, and testing will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency, innovation, and quality across the organization.

 

This key position combines the analytical capacity of a functional analyst with the technical vision of a data specialist, the innovative spirit of an automation expert, and the meticulous approach of a quality assurance professional. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Data Management: Utilize SQL Server, Power BI and other internal platforms for complex data querying, manipulation, and analysis across multiple databases. Ensure data integrity and accuracy, perform corrections in all reports and analysis.
  • Insight Generation: Use Power BI and other internal platforms to create compelling visualizations and dashboards that communicate trends, patterns, and insights to non-technical stakeholders to drive commercial impact.
  • Driving Data-Centric Decision Making: Leverage their deep understanding of data structures, relationships, and quality to ensure that all automated processes and applications are built on a foundation of reliable, actionable data. Their expertise will be vital in transforming raw data into valuable business insights. 
  • Optimizing Data Flows and Integration: Design and implement efficient data pipelines and integrations between various systems using Power Apps and other technologies. Their efforts will break down data silos, improve information flow, and ensure data consistency across the organization. 
  • Lead Process Automation: Leverage expertise in Power Apps to transform manual, time-consuming processes into efficient, automated workflows, significantly boosting productivity across the organization.
  • Develop Robust Power Apps Solutions: Create powerful, user-friendly applications using Power Apps that streamline operations and enhance data accessibility, empowering employees to work more efficiently and make data-driven decisions.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Constantly analyse existing processes and systems to identify opportunities for automation and optimization
  • Facilitate Cross-Platform Integration: Utilize Power Apps' connectivity features to integrate various systems and data sources, breaking down data silos and improving information flow across the organization.
  • Collaborate on Cross-Functional Projects: Work closely with various departments to identify automation opportunities and implement cross-functional solutions, driving organization-wide efficiency improvements.
  • Testing Automation: Utilize Tosca to define and run test plans ensuring the components meet MetLife expectations in terms of functionality and performance.
  • Ensuring Solution Quality and Reliability: Apply their testing expertise to validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of data systems, automated processes, and Power Apps solutions. 
  • Conduct Thorough User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Lead UAT sessions to ensure that automated solutions meet user requirements and expectations, gathering and implementing user feedback to deliver high-value solutions.
  • Implement Best Practices in Automation and Testing: Establish and maintain standards for Power Apps development and testing methodologies, ensuring consistency, scalability, and maintainability of automated solutions.
  • Stay Ahead of Technology Trends: Continuously explore new features in Power Apps and emerging trends in automation and testing, ensuring the organization remains adaptable and competitive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

 

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: 

 

 

Required:  

  • Proficient English speaker.
  • BA/BS in Comp Science/IS (or equivalent) 
  • Typical 1-3 years' experience in the position.
  • Proficiency with SQL language and SQL Server DBs.
  • Good knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, Cognos) and techniques.
  • Understanding of data security and privacy principles.
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps. 
  • Good knowledge of APIS (SOAP/REST).
  • Good knowledge of any software testing tool (TOSCA desirable).
  • Good knowledge of Agile methodology.
  • Ability to work with applicable collaboration tools that drive an end-to-end delivery of product through persistent teams. (Miro, Azure).
  • Proactive work style.
  • Delivery focused.

  

 Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project status.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS)
  • Agile certifications: SAFe Certifications (SSM, SP) & Scrum Certifications.
  • Insurance/Finance Industry Experience.
