The RIS Pricing Models Actuary is responsible for leading the development and ownership of pricing models for RIS, ensuring accurate and robust analysis that supports MetLife’s ability to deliver a diverse range of retirement and institutional products. This position plays a critical role in enhancing profitability and risk management by shaping the tools and processes used in pricing, working collaboratively with business and functional partners across the U.S. segment of MetLife. This is an exciting opportunity to directly influence the pricing strategies of one of MetLife’s largest business segments, gain deep insights into profitability drivers, and be involved in the entire pricing process, including liability projections, reserving, asset modeling, assumption development, and risk monitoring.
- Provide technical and analytical support to the product development and implementation activities in RIS
- Develop Excel, Prophet, and other financial models to support the analysis and development of new and existing products. This includes pricing scenarios, cash flow projections and ROI calculations
- Update Excel, Prophet, VBA Macros, and other tools as requested by business
- Explore new pricing modeling methodologies, pricing metrics, product designs, new accounting or regulatory requirements.
- Research new ways to improve process run time, automate, reduce errors, improve controls, etc
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, economics, or related discipline
- FSA or pre-FSA
- 5-10 years of experience in insurance and or reinsurance
- Develop strategic relationships with client groups and vendor partners to support ongoing collaboration and success
- Experience pricing or reserving with insurance products
- Experience using Excel VBA, Alteryx, Prophet or some other projection software
- Strong knowledge in Retirement products
