Financial Operations Expense Center of Excellence (“Expense COE”) is responsible for the governance, standards, and controls related to the enterprise’s global expense infrastructure, accounting, allocations, management reporting and analysis, and budget processes.

 

The Expense Center of Excellence Finance Manager of the Fixed Asset, Inter-company, and Transfer Pricing Accounting Unit (“FIT”) will oversee financial accounting, reporting, and process management for MetLife's Affiliated Transactions and Fixed Assets. This includes GAAP and Statutory financial accounting, reporting, and analysis, with a focus on process improvement.

 

Success in this role requires the ability to work independently while also supporting and guiding the team.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Provide guidance on inter-company, transfer pricing, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Oversee the preparation and processing of affiliate expense and fixed asset accounting transactions.
  • Review and approve G/L journal entries and wire transfers for affiliated transactions.
  • Support cash flow projection for US-based corporate service companies.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX and internal audit controls.
  • Oversee processes and training for offshore financial services support teams.
  • Support the preparation, review, and filing of GAAP and STAT financial statements.
  • Partner with internal and external teams to implement best practices.
  • Manage projects and initiatives.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to facilitate collaboration and manage performance.
  • Strong PC skills (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and/or Alteryx).
  • Proficient in financial data/accounting software (i.e., PeopleSoft, EPBCS, HFM)

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Experience with GAAP and/or STAT financial accounting and/or reporting.
