Role Value Proposition:

The Complex Deals team is looking for a new Principal to contribute to all aspects of the group’s objectives. As a member of the Global Technology & Enablement organization, this role will help MetLife to prepare for the largest vendor contracts that Global Technology executes within its annual $1B+ budget. Along with the Assistant Vice President of Complex Deals, the Principal will connect with partners from Technology, Procurement, Compliance, Vendor Management, and Legal to coordinate, communicate, and optimize MetLife’s technology strategies in reaction to market trends. The work will require attention to detail, market research, cost and demand forecasting, the generation of concise metrics, and strong written communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop world-class vendor strategies that incorporate technical requirements and forecasted demand.
  • Engage with stakeholders and partners in the development, review, and execution of vendor strategies.
  • Gather, organize, and document technology requirements/scope from IT leaders.
  • Author or guide the authoring and review of contract and project funding proposals.
  • Partner with AVP and/or lead end-to-end strategy and execution of major vendor deals.
  • Work with the AVP to present deal strategies and coordinate approvals from senior leadership.

 

Essential Business Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, major in business, technology, or related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in project management, accounting, financial management, contract management, business development, or similar.
  • Comfort managing multiple concurrent strategic projects and timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders and capture/document technology and business requirements.
  • Aptitude for numbers and financial/accounting concepts.
  • Strong business analysis and writing skills with the ability to articulate technology concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and visualization skills.

 

Preferred

  • A master’s degree in business, accounting, or finance.
  • Financial modeling experience (Excel, Apptio, etc.).
  • A working knowledge of enterprise technology and infrastructure.
  • Experience with B2B contracts and/or sales processes.
  • Flexibility and an openness to shifting priorities and timelines.
  • Excellent understanding of current technology and market trends.

The expected salary range for this position is . This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.  All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
